Tips on Conserving Energy with Dishwashers
  • If your dishwasher has a "booster heater," lower the temperature setting on your hot water heater to 120 degrees F.

  • Scrape off dirty dishes. It is not necessary to rinse or pre-wash them.

  • Only run your dishwasher when it is "full."

  • The "rinse hold" cycle on your dishwasher uses between 3-7 gallons of hot water. Don’t use the rinse and hold cycle for just a few dishes.

  • Let the dishes air dry.
