Tips on Applying Caulk
- Remove any paint residue in the area to be caulked.
- Use a putty knife or stiff brush to remove any old caulk before applying the new caulk.
- Install caulk when the temperature is at least over 45°F, and be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully
- For best results, apply caulk when the humidity is low. This will prevent the cracks from swelling with moisture.
These measures will help ensure that the new caulk will set properly and adhere to the wall and window surfaces.
