Tips on Air Cleaners
  • Filter effectiveness or efficiency refers to the percentage of particles removed from the air that passes through the filter media. A high efficiency particulate air filter, or HEPA filter, is capable of removing particles as small as 0.3 microns at a minimum efficiency of 99.97 percent.

  • Air Circulation Capacity or ACC is measured in air changes per hour (ACH). Each ACH represents how many times per hour the air in a specific room size should be circulated through the air cleaner.

  • Air cleaners are not a cure for allergies.

  • Air cleaners are effective only when air is circulated through them.

  • Set your thermostat to "Fan," "On" or "Manual" position for continuous air cleaning when not heating or cooling. (This approach uses more electricity and reduces the life of the blower.)
