Allergens

Allergens, like pollens and spores, are typically 10-100 microns. These particles are easily removed if you can get them through the air cleaner. To increase the efficiency of an air cleaner that is mounted on your furnace, set your thermostat to "fan" or "manual" and leave your blower on for continuous air circulation. Although this method is somewhat helpful at removing allergens in the air, it increases the use of electricity and wear on the blower. Air cleaners are not a cure for allergies, and it is unrealistic to expect them to remove all particulates!
